A Spa Kamp for ages 5-15 on July 1 and 2 kicks off the 2013 Kids’ College Program at East Central Community College in Decatur. Activities for ages 5-12 continue during the month of July with classes ranging from athletics to cake decorating and law enforcement.

The registration fee is $40 for the first class and $30 for each additional class (per student).

SCOTT COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now)- A Scott County father and his fiancee are facing charges in the death of the man's 3-year-old daughter.

According to Scott County Coroner Joe Bradford, 3-year-old Samaria Harris died Saturday in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at the University of Mississippi Medical Center where she had been since May 1.

Scott County Sheriff Mike Lee says Samaria's father, 38-year-old Sedrick Harris, is charged with felony child abuse.

Thomas W. Carson, who served 30 years as East Central Community College Director of Bands, died this morning in Baptist Medical Center following a lengthy battle with esophageal cancer. Arrangements are incomplete at this time.

Carson retired from full time duties in 2012 to wage war against his cancer, but continued to serve as director and a member ...of the Collegians, the College’s rock-n-roll band.
